Happy Chinese New Year, Everyone!

Gong Xi Fa Cai! This year marks our 3rd Chinese New Year spent in the States now.

1st year was in 2007, I arrived in Seattle on the 7th day of the Lunar New Year and brought along yusheng. If I didnt remember wrongly, it was a group of 8 of us then and the steamboat dinner was cosy and enjoyable. :)

2nd year in 2008, we had a simple home-cooked reunion dinner at home for myself, Junyong and 1 of our housemate. And I made sure there were meat, fish, prawns and leftovers to signify "abundance" for good luck!

This year, we have steamboat again.. but it has become a big affair for 17 of us! We had 4 pots for steamboat, tons of meat, all different kinds of balls (fishballs, cuttlefish balls, meatballs, prawnballs etc), mushrooms, veggies, fish slices, prawns, sotongs etc etc. Very sumptuous & filling! A couple of friends even manage to whip up home-made yusheng from scratch!!! And it was super delicious!!! *slurps*

Here's some photos that a friend shared with us:

Part of The Spread! Everyone is hungry!!!
What are we waiting for??
Oh! Home-made luxurious Lou Hei (with abalone slices) 1st!
Lou ahhhh! Huuuuuat ahhh! :p
On the actual Chinese New Year's Eve today, the reunion dinner between just the two of us, was a dream come true for dear.... because I cooked deep fried chicken wings, butterfly prawns, fishballs, fried gyoza and veggie was green beans with spiced pork cubes. Never had I cooked so much deep fried dishes in 1 meal before.... Junyong loves DEEP-FRIED food & his fave veggie is green beans, in case u didnt know. That's why it's his dream comes true. lol!

I dont have pictures for now... my camera is in a soon-to-be retiring mood.... but that's for another blog post.. :p

Meanwhile, everyone have a Super Duper Bullish Chinese New Year!
