I bought a pack of the dried bonito flakes sometime ago at a Japanese supermarket. My idea was to try making Takoyaki but unfortunately I didn't have the round-shaped mould for it.
So in the end, I decided to just pan-fry a flat seafood pancake this afternoon, squeezed some mayo and placed the flakes on top. The flakes moved about just like when we buy our steaming hot takoyaki from the stall in Singapore!
The flakes also helped to disguise my messy pancake. :p
There it is - my flat version of Takoyaki but just as yummy!
